Sept. 07 - UNHQ The Minister for Planning and Development Cooperation visited HQ, congratulating the team in-country on their good work on a comprehensive CCA and government-oriented UNDAF. Voiced a concern about whether UNICEF was fully supportive of the “delivering as one” concept in Suriname. It is possible this concern was related to the complex reporting lines in Suriname where all three ExCom agencies have Reps reporting to Reps in different countries (Guyana for UNICEF, Trinidad for UNDP and Barbados for UNFPA). This misconception should easily be fixable, and later meeting with the Rep (Johannes) from Guyana allowed good communication on the issue.

The main issue for Coherence Unit, however, is to recognise the amount of progress the Country Team has made in Suriname, which should be documented as much as Pilot country activities.
